DEACEASED DOG COBBLE HILL HBC 11:30PM Sept. 9, 2022 - Posted Sept. AS FAR AS WE CAN FIND OUT, THIS WAS BIG BOY

Tonight at 11:30pm, on the TCH between Cow Bay and Cobble Hill, a dog ran out from the ditch and was hit by my truck, despite slamming on my brakes. It looked to be an Airedale Terrier and had a pink collar. I went up and down the highway twice, looking for her, as I couldn’t possibly hit an animal and just drive away. (That’s why I know the breed and the collar colour). I could tell by looking at her that she had passed immediately. As a dog lover and owner, I am so incredibly devastated and heart broken.

Her collar had no identifying tags (I removed the collar to check.) She is by the concrete barrier, not directly on the highway. I made sure of that. I had no idea what else to do. Again, I’m so sorry to her family, she was a beautiful looking dog and I wanted you to know that she did not suffer.
